Amiga floppy - Speciale Luca Baccarini

Oggi vi voglio raccontare una storia, una storia fatta di cuore e di passione, quindi cari appassionati, collezionisti e nostalgici del retrogame mettetevi comodi.

Mi chiamo Luca Baccarini e sono nato a Rovereto (TN) il 1973. All’ età di 13 anni , dopo essere stato promosso all’esame di terza media, i miei genitori mi comprarono un Commodore 64.
Con lui ho scoperto il magico mondo dei videogiochi, un grande amore che poi fu superato da una passione ancora più grande: quello per l’Amiga 500.

Quello che inizio con un semplice gioco divenne ben presto una passione travolgente, trasformandosi in lavoro nella mia vita adulta.
Oltre ai videogiochi collezionavo utility, moduli per Sound Tracker, e tantissime demo dei gruppi Amiga più famosi. Dopo aver appreso i rudimenti dell’ Assembler del 6800, acquistai la leggendaria Action Replay e per alcuni anni ho collaborai nella scena Amiga Italiana e estera in qualità di cracker dei videogiochi . Il mio nickname era Bruce Lee.

Sono stati gli anni più belli ed emozionanti della mia adolescenza, vissuti al massimo con tanti amici che hanno condiviso con me questa straordinaria passione. Ho dedicato un impegno meticoloso a catalogare e collezionare oltre 1000 floppy, un lavoro d’amore che il tempo ha purtroppo segnato. L’umidità della mia cantina non ha aiutato a preservare questo patrimonio, e cosi, mentre i ricordi rimangono scolpiti nel mio cuore, i supporti magnetici hanno ceduto al trascorrere degli anni.

Quando ho scoperto il Dumpclub64, ho capito che la mia collezione poteva rinascere attraverso loro. Cosi ho affidato a Roberto lanciotti, l’ideatore del club, e a Francesco Galluccio, suo amico e collaboratore fidato, tutti i miei tesori. Ora, quei preziosi floppy vivono di nuova vita, custoditi con la stessa passione con cui li ho amati.

Francesco ha effettuato il dumping di tutto il mio archivio in formato ADF , restituendo vita anche a floppy parzialmente danneggiati. ha intrapreso un lavoro immenso, con una pazienza infinita, simile a quella di un archeologo che riporta alla luce antiche testimonianze destinate altrimenti a perdersi per sempre.

Non smetterò mai di ringraziare Roberto e Francesco per questo straordinario progetto. Spero con tutto il cuore che la maggior parte dei miei floppy sia ancora funzionate e che i “caduti sul campo” siano solo una piccola parte. Invito tutti a seguire il mio esempio. Se possedete materiale per Amiga non lasciatelo marcire in una cantina ma affidatelo al Dumpclub64: saranno sicuramente in mani esperte. Ne vale davvero la pena.
